Lake Casitas Recreation Area
Stocking
At various times throughout the year Casitas will be purchasing fish for planting including the following:
- 3,000 lbs. - Catfish
- 4,000 lbs. - Crappie
- 6,000 lbs. - Bluegill
- 4,000 lbs. - Largemouth Bass
In addition, The California Department of Fish & Game delivers fish from the Fillmore Hatchery at intervals of approximately two weeks between the months of October through April. For the year 2003/04 approximately 28,300 pounds of trout, a little under a half pound each, were planted.
